As the country celebrates Independence Day, Lifeblood will honor the country’s retired and active military service members as part of its 18th annual M*A*S*H Bash Celebration taking place between July 4 and August 31 at all Lifeblood donor centers and mobile blood drives.
Lifeblood donor centers will be open regular hours, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 4. The Paul Barret, Jr. donor center, 1045 Madison Avenue, is closed on Fridays.
Volunteers who donate between July 4 and August 31 will receive a limited edition M*A*S*H Bash T-shirt, which they may choose to surrender in exchange for a contribution to be made to the Forever Young Senior Wish Organization toward a trip for World War II Veterans to visit the site of the Battle of the Bulge.
“Donating blood is a vital community service,” said Jennifer Balink, vice president of donor relations at Lifeblood. “M*A*S*H Bash is Lifeblood’s way of showing support for both veterans and active service members, our true community heroes.”
Balink added that the blood supply is critically low and Lifeblood is seeking donors of all blood types, especially O-negative, the universal blood type, A-negative and B-positive.
